u’ve got mail

every thought I've had in the last week

yay you’re here, buckle up.

okay so I’ve been thinking…

What do I want to look like in 5 years. Other than deviously handsome. Dashing, even!

I kinda want to have 5 things in 5 years. hope you’re ready for it.

  1. wildsparq

  2. pin pals

  3. country music golf

  4. the big idea

  5. business owner’s book club

Will they all happen? idk. Could they? ya for sure, here’s a peek into each of them.

Wildsparq AE

Plain and simple, the job rocks. The impact Wildsparq has on organizations rocks. The team is LEGIT. Could be on its way to the moon. We’re dialed in on slinging Wildsparq.

Tech Company Founder: Pin Pals

Here’s me chatting your ear off about my new app, Pin Pals, where golfers can connect with other golfers when they aren’t golfing with the golfers they normally golf with at the place they normally golf.

yada yada yada, what’s your handicap? 2?? Absolutely not - swipe left.

Handicap of 23? Like to crack a cold one out on the links, listens to music in the cart? My GUY. We’re going to have some fun, swiping right immediately.

Hey this course costs $70, look nice, but how about this $35 course?

Yes and amen.

Make new friends, book tee times straight from the app. Now you have a buddy in Dallas that you’ll golf with EVERY TIME YOU’RE THERE.

Luke, you’re brilliant.

Pin Pals will operate much like Tinder or Bumble.

Tinder did 1.9 Billion last year. BILLION! Now, more people want to date than they do want to golf.

That means Pin Pals will only do about 50 Million in 10 years - that’s FINE, we’ll take it.

Country Music Golf

Okay so this is actually a real thing and it’s happening. We have a LI, insta, X, and tiktok - pretty cool.

I’m only in charge of the LinkedIn rn, and we’re rolling. 110 likes on a post Wednesday and we had 103 followers (now up to 147).

TALK ABOUT ENGAGEMENT. TALK ABOUT IT.

CMG is the intersection of all things “good times” - you’re out on the links, cold one in tow, little country song’s on in the background, you’re with your best friends and it’s 80 outside.

It’s a media company that aims to build a community around country music and golf lovers alike. News, hot takes, history, you name it.

As it grows, we’ll host events, do giveaways, interview professionals, and give you a behind the scenes look into the lives of country musicians and golfers all the same.

The Big Idea

It’s literally just a newsletter for entrepreneurs or hopeful entrepreneurs who have trouble thinking of business ideas.

I’l think of them for them. If I like the idea enough, I WON’T tell them about it and I’ll make it happen on my own (PIN PALS DUH).

There will be some satire, but it’ll get the entrepreneurial juices flowing.

Take two examples:

Tattoo Marketplace

Social media and commerce platform for tattoo artists and tattoo canvases (humans) to connect and share their art and schedule appointments and charge for their artwork and whatnot.

Niche? hundred million people have tattoos, let’s give them a place to connect.

The rat race

Justin Welsh had a clever post saying:

“Most people think you have to accumulate wealth to leave the rat race. I believe you have to leave the rat race to accumulate wealth”

Pretty good Justin - what if we took 100 successful 9-5 businessmen, pull them out of their business for 1 month, give them rats to train for a rat racing tournament.

Your buy in is your 401(k), and the pay outs are scaled down based on how your rat performs in the tournament.

Sure, a few guys will be left with nothing, but a few guys will REALLY be able to leave the rat race because they have access to 75+ other guys’ 401(k)s.

Yeah that’s a horrible idea for a business, but someone might say - wait I like the idea of hosting events where normal everyday people come together for some cause, and there are winners, there are losers.

Now your hosting a 55+ shuffleboard tournament every weekend, and your brand scales to different towns and you’ve built a business. I DON’T KNOW.

Business Owner Book Club

Rolling this out here in just a bit.

I’ll send you a summary of 2 high value leadership / business books, straight to your inbox every week.

Great for those leading teams who need a couple stories and quotes to pull leadership lessons from.

Great to peruse to see if you’d like to buy the books - the links will be right there.

Think thought leaders like Simon Sinek, Adam Grant, Brene Brown, the whole team.

okay so (in summary):

  1. Wildsparq

  2. Pin Pals

  3. Country Music Golf

  4. The Big Idea

  5. Business Owner’s Book Club

Voila - that’s been on my mind this week, and we’ll get rolling on it soon.

First thing’s first, Wildsparq. Second thing’s second, become serial entrepreneur who will likely end up with 14 different beehiiv newsletters.

Cheers!
